Movie licenses are the most overlooked item in on the checklist for outdoor movies. Everyone asks if a movie license is necessary. The short answer is YES. Any public showing of a movie requires a movie license. Common responses are; the movie is released on DVD, it is a free event, we are not inviting anyone that is not in my community. Although there may be specifics as to the requirements, the short simple asnswer is; If you are showing a movie to your school, community, company, or in the public, YES, you need a public performance license for that movie.
The good news is we can help with that. Swank Movie Licensing USA is the ONLY company that provides the license for major Hollywood Studios like Disney, Pixar, Dreamworks and many others. We work with Swank to provide you the best movie licensing options at the best price. This Swank license allows you to show and promote an available movie title of your choice for your community, school, company or public movie event for up to an anticipated crowd size of 50 guests.
Blackout and avialability restrictions may apply. Movie selections are recommended to made 14 days in advance. Once the movie is selected and confirmed, the license is purchased from Swank in the clients name (school, business, community), anad no refunds for the license is granted. If the event is cancelled for any reason, the Swank movie license for that specific movie is good for up to one year from the original event date. Since the license is in the clients name, once a rescheduled event date is selected, the movie title can be played from another company if Outdoor Movie Magic is unavailable to do so.
